Motorola’s Budget-Friendly Moto E and Moto G Fast to Hit the Market in June

Motorola has added two sleek models to its range of budget-friendly smartphones. In addition to the Moto G Power and G Stylus models, you can now choose between the entry-level Motorola E and the Moto G Fast.

The new Moto E and G Fast act as a replacement of the old Moto E6 and G7 Play respectively. The smartphones will run on Android 10 and will include features like customizable icons and colors, gaming mode, and gesture compatibility.

Moto G Fast has Downgraded Specs for a Lower Price

The G Fast has similarities to the G Stylus and Moto G Power in terms of the design, Snapdragon 665 processor, and a 19:9 hole-punch display, but otherwise, Motorola has downgraded the specs to reduce the price.

The new model offers 3 GB of RAM instead of the 4 GB offered by the pricier models, and 32 GB of internal space to G Power‘s 64 GB and G Stylus’ 128 GB. Even the panel is 720p instead of the 1080p panel of the previous models.

The camera quality is certainly great: a 16 MP main camera, 8 MP front-facing camera, 8 MP 118° ultrawide camera, and a 2 MP macro camera. While the 4000 mAh battery is similar to the G Stylus, it falls short when compared to the 5000 mAh battery of the G Power.

A 3.5 mm headphone jack, rear fingerprint scanner, USB-C charging, and an IP52 design to make the phone water repellent are its other features.

Moto E is An Upgrade from the E6

In comparison to its predecessor E6, the Moto E has a larger screen (6.2 inches as compared to E6’s 5.5 inches), and a rear fingerprint sensor. You also get a stronger processor in the form of Snapdragon 632, 2 GB RAM, and 32 GB internal storage.

The upgraded camera includes a dual-lens system, 13 MP main lens, and a 2 MP depth sensor. In addition to the IPX2 rating for a waterproof and dust-proof model, the smartphone offers a 3550 mAh battery, and a 3.5 mm headphone jack too.

However, one major miss with the Moto E is the lack of a USB-C port as it uses a micro USB port for charging.

The Moto E and Moto G Fast cost $149.99 and $199.99 respectively and will be available for sale on June 12.
